A Little About MEPS
This is where you go to see if you fully qualify for being apart of the military .
If you click the link above you can see a very descriptive Itinerary of the whole process .
For every station it may be different .
For me it took two days .
Day 1 : Take the ASVAB test , which is to see what job / rate best suits you . If you are no good in math or reading you may want to study , however the math and reading is like 6th grade English Writing and Comprehension and Mathematics (Algebra) .
For the math portion you are not allowed to use a calculator , just scratch paper . I did mines on the computer so it did not take so long but it was about 2 hours maximum , which is saying something because the Navy's test is the longest I believe .
When you're done you tell the proctor and they will allow you to leave and sit and wait for a shuttle to take you to the hotel .
**IMPORTANT : You MUST have an ID to be able to check in . I had a little problem with this but I got it just in time , however my stay would've have been better if I could've checked in 2 hours earlier instead of waiting for a fax of my ID from home .
Be in bed by 2200 or you will NOT get any sleep - - me and my roommate couldn't sleep because we were excited and we were up passed 12 AM so we only had 3 hours of sleep .
Day 2 :
You must be up but 3:30 to be ready by 0400 . The bus / shuttle will come and take about 60 people processing or shipping to MEPS . When you arrive at MEPS again , you will form on the concrete outside , we were inside because it was raining . They will call the shippers first by branch (Navy , Army , Marine , Coast Guard , or Air Force). Then the new comers to be processed will be called by branch .
This is where your processing starts .
You will get a 15 minute briefing and then will be lined up to go to your branch's office and wait for your folder being called by alphabetical order . I was second thank God .

Attire For MEPS
When I left to go to MEPS , all my NC1 told me was to wear a covering bra , "grandma panties" , and to make sure I wear closed up shoes . They did not tell me to wear a T-shirt with sleeves no longer than 3-inches from my elbow , and a pants or skirt , because when we swear in we must "geek up" (put your shirt in your pants or skirt) . Also MEPS does not allow jackets so keep that in mind too.
Females :
Males :
Females :

- Closed Shoes
Males :
- Clean underwear
